Features — Management Systems
Intuitive GUI: The user interface is designed to simplify data entry for an AFE with a simple, yet powerful, AFE navigator. A menu bar of tabbed dividers logically organizes the data entry fields.
Workflow: The design of AFE MS (management system) was modeled after the AFE business processes existing in the oil industry, with input from several industry leaders.
Integration: AFE MS can be integrated with existing work- flows and procedures to maximize the value of the AFE process.
AFEs to Partners: AFE MS can automatically send partners an email so they can review an approved AFE and choose to go consent or non-consent.
Filtering / Searching: Organize oil and gas AFEs based on your needs by using a combination of searching and filtering. Filters can be built using any data element in the database, including user-defined data elements.
Client-Driven Business Model: With an array of administrative options, you can configure AFE MS to meet the specific demands of your business operation.
Electronic Routing: AFEs routed for approval can be sent to selected team members via e-mail notification for approval, rejection, or amending. Supporting documentation (e.g., logs, memos, wellbore schematics, and so on) can be included with the AFE as attachments.
Routing templates: Automate the AFE routing member selection process by setting up routing templates for end users. Allow the inherent data within the AFE assist in determining the correct approval path.
Web-Based approval: Use a simple Web browser interface to view, approve, reject, track, or amend routed AFEs over the Internet or your company’s intranet site. Attachments can also be viewed using the Web browser, ensuring complete AFE analysis.
Data integrity: Using drop down menus during data entry, assures the data integrity of your AFE and makes it easier to filter, search and report similar types of AFEs.
Supplements: Supplements to an AFE can be easily created, with the supplement inheriting the characteristics of the original AFE, complete with the ability to be routed for approval.
Reporting: AFE MS uses Crystal Reports as its reporting engine. You can create reports for use within the system, complete with live links to AFE MS. You can also create Ad Hoc tabular reports containing any data element within AFE MS.
Ad Hoc Query: Generate, save, and share user-defined queries; select fields, data items, and filter criteria using a simple point-and-click interface. Queries can easily be exported to Microsoft Excel (XLS), HTML, or tab delimited format for external distribution.
Extensible Data Model: Create user-defined fields to completely model AFE business processes. The user-defined fields are added to the data model and can be used for searching, filtering, and reporting.
Extensions: Specialized extensions can be developed as client-specific enhancements to meet complex data integration needs. Examples of integration points include OpenWells, Economics (ARIES), and Accounting (Artesia, SAP, Enertia & etc) to name a few.
Documentation: AFE MS documentation is available in both printed and digital versions.
Data auditing: Prevent data loss and enforce accountability by enabling the audit feature on specific core tables. Record all data changes on critical areas of the AFE MS database, including user and permission data.
Security: Specific roles can be assigned to users to only allowing them to view and modify information on those AFEs and data sections as determined by the administrator. Roles for specific administration tasks, such as changing passwords or adding new users, can be established. Additionally, “Tight Hole” security can be established for selected oil and gas AFE operations.
